Adjust Squelch on BC860XLT

Is there anyway to adjust the sensitivy of the squelch? The "Auto" function
will not receive any channels. I have the "Squelch" knob adjusted to just
above the lowest threshold and receive local stations OK. I was wondering if
there is a way to adjust this with one of the pots inside the radio. Any
help is appreciated.
