Good observation. As an amateur astronomer, I am fond of pointing out to
people that all light pollution is wasted energy. Somebody's paying for
electricity, converting it to light, and throwing it away, up into the sky.

That is not so much the case with RFI (although, strictly speaking, it is
still true; RFI is wasted energy).
