All,
Is anyone having a non-fossil powered amateur radio or homemade receiver picnic? Has anyone prepared a handout pointing to web sites describing historical and current solar, wind, earth battery, hand- cracked generator, etc. use in amateur, homemade, and emergency radio communications? I'd like to hear about activities and sites with just radio power-source facts—not explicit political content. Thank you, Steven, KD7YTE |

All,
In searching the web I found a few photovoltaic (sun battery) radio projects. I like the modest scale of the last link's solar-powered radio. http://www.hobbyprojects.com/P/Photo..._Circuits.html www.newsociety.com/titleimages/pv_ch1.pdf www.humboldt.edu/~serc/papers/WHECJune02.pdf http://www.metacafe.com/watch/984846...o_solar_power/ http://www.arrl.org/news/features/2008/02/09/1/ Happy radio building, Steven, KD7YTE |
