i am in canada thanks , also what one of these is a better scanner ? any

Depends. 780D will only work on APCO-25 non-encrypted systems. But does have
1000 channel capability. It will
not work on Pro-Voice type systems. Check Radioreference.com to see what
trunked systems are in your metropolitan
area.
