I recommend the Sony ICF-7600GR. It gives you USB, LSB, AM and FM. It
even has synchronous detection! A very good value for the price.

Is not " Shirt Pocket" size, but , aside from that, great.

Sony ICF-SW100, just about as compact as it gets. Non-negligible pricing
though. With some luck, an ICF-SW07 may still be found. Better rx than
the '100 (bigger, too) and comes with matching active loop antenna. For
a budget option: DE/KA1102. SSB not too great (somewhat wobbly) unless
signal strength LEDs are disconnected. A DE/KA1103 is somewhat larger
still but also a better receiver. Last but not least the Sony
ICF-SW7600GR but I don't know whether that still classifies as small.
