Default NEW COBY Pocket Radio

It's a radio in the tradition of the incomparable Bell&Howell.

COBY, pocket sized radio model CX-CB91
$ 12.95 + S&H
Comes packaged in a retail "plastic blister"

Digital frequency display
MW, FM and 7 SW bands.

Surprisingly sensitive on MW.
I got a station every 10kc here in southern AZ.
FM.... pretty good even with antenna retracted.
Didn't experiment with SW.

Smooth tuning dial.
Display includes a clock and an alarm !

Now the bad news;
It's got an intermittent cut-out.
Not worth shipping back to the retailer.
I opened it up.....
Nice sized (4") ferrite antenna coil.
Quality equal to "early Korean efforts" ( poor )
Lots of hot-glue and masking tape used....
Wire routing...... "poor"
BUT if it works OK, you don't look inside.

CONCLUSION
I still haven't been able to locate the "intermittent"
BUT
I'd buy another one if I could be sure it worked.
Not a bad gamble for $12.95
