Need Info on Stars for Defense Civil Defense Weekly Radio Program

Does anyone know the history and / or the duration of the public
service radio series sponsored by the government called "Stars for
Defense." I have some LPs that date back to 1957 and as late as 1965.
Any additional info would be greatly appreciated.
