Looking for a surplus store in NJ, I used to buy all my boatanchor
restoring components...caps, resistors and even tubes at the
Electronic Barn, but it closed its doors a couple of months ago.

Try Lashen Electronics in Denville. They used to stock lots of components.

You may have to go down the mailorder route and make a bulk order for your
resistors and capacotors to Mouser Electronics or Digikey. Their prices are
usually
less than local outlets and the electrolytics are new. Mouser does not have
a minimum
order.

newark electronics is an industrial electronics parts supplier with a
catalog the size of the Manhattan phone book. They send it for free,
but you might have to send it to a business address. I ran part of a
small software company that did odd projects that needed the
occasional electronics part, and Newark was always happy to take small
orders over the phone with a credit card for payment.
