Will putting my 2 meter ham radio antenna near my remote car starter
antenna cause a problem? |

I guess I am more worried of either frying the radio or remote start.

I guess I am more worried of either frying the radio or remote start. I doubt that you'll fry the radio - the remote start is a receiver. As far as frying the remote start - it's possible. It's also possible to fry the car's computer - manufacturers don't guarantee that the computers can withstand radio transmitters of any kind in cars these days. But you can mount the 2 meter antenna so that it's not close enough to the remote start antenna to do any damage. I run 50 watts on 2 and 440 in the car and the alarm still works. |
