Hi all,
What's the best choice currently on the market for a 2m/70cm handheld with some additional all-mode rx on other bands? thanks, p. -- "What is now proved was once only imagin'd" - William Blake |

But it's a bit *small* to say the least. Can it really do all that stuff that's claimed and still produce intelligible audio?? -- "What is now proved was once only imagin'd" - William Blake |

I went to a standard 2m handheld. |

Total piece of crap...we have the VX7 and the THF 7E...the Yaesu wins hands
down...the wideband mod & good quality audio on PMR are the only plus's the Kenwood has to offer...... -- Chaney Chaney's World www.chaney.i12.com "Gus" wrote in message ... "Paul Burridge" k wrote in message ... Hi all, Kenwood THF 7E |

Well it also depends on what you require as an individual, I am just about
to purchase the Yaesu ft60, it is reasonable price, good rx extra coverage and the main plus for me is that it used AA batteries so I can buy a seperate case and use all my rechargable batteries, thus giving lot,s of cheap capacity as the spare lithium packs cost a fortune. |

Compact enough to be small, yet big enough so you don't need a toothpick to push the buttons. Keypad is intuitive and easy to learn. Plenty of memory, tones, power levels, and the like. Rugged -- I ran over mine twice with my truck, it was buried in mud by Katrina, and it has been generally abused all its life, yet, it keeps on ticking. |
