Some very good suggestions. I will add that birdies at this spacing can
also suggest things like switching power supplies. Many things have them
now. If A portable receiver to hear them can go a long way.

Before spending money on a phasing unit, run a few of the following
checks.

1. Remove antenna - check for birdies. If they are still there start
looking
at the receiver.

2. If no birdies, assuming rig can run on 12 Volts, remove power supply
and
substitute a battery. Reconnect antenna. Check for birdies.

3. If birdies, throw house master breaker and see if they go away. If they
do as I suspect they will turn breaker back on and turn off breakers one
at
a time untill you find out it is a clock radio or some other electronic
device.

4. If they still persist, start driving around the neighborhood looking
for
increased signal strength.

Had a similar problem one time, turned out to be an old radio in the
attic.
My wife had been up there sorting boxes and plugged in an old radio to
listen to. She had turned it down, but not off and it was creating havoc.

read an old review on ARRL and other comments on some bulletin boards
but
am
wondering if anyone out there has experience with the unit and what
their
honest impression is. In addition to that unit I plan on a complete
rework
of the antenna and grounding system her just to make sure I do not have
a
poor joint in the system that is providing some rectification and being
self
induced. Any comments will be appreciated.
