Hello, Jim
Remember when even the Sears catalogue had radios in them? I'm not talking
cb radios, I mean Hallicrafters receivers etc. That was in the early 60s as
I recall (probably earlier too - but that was before I got interested in
them).
I don't remember that in southern California where I started buying from
local Sears stores beginning 1957...while working for Hughes Aircraft
El Segundo Division...or from 1963 when I got a Sears catalog plus
supplements to check out several ways to improve this house that I'd
just moved into.
Must be a different "Sears." :-)
Glad that Jimmie is all enthused. He travels back in time often and
I think he really lives back then. It's good that he has some "radio
stores" to hang out in... :-)
The Class C and D CB didn't get started until 1958 but Henry Radio
had a bunch of different CBs for sale in 1959. Was there, bought
an E.F. Johnson transceiver. Still have it on the shelf.
Why did you ask? :-)
