No need to touch that one. You haven't even mentioned trigonometry and
locations. :-)
It is NOT the antenna('s radiaton pattern)! I wasted 46 years of my hamming
life trying to figure out antennas.
I should have kept my trigonometry books. Uh huuuuh

I assume what Reg is saying is: The antenna's radiation pattern is
determined by phasing interference (superposition) of EM wave components
in the far field. In some places, they tend to reinforce and in other
places they tend to cancel. An example might be a one wavelength
vertical monopole.
