A long wire is usually unbalanced. A receiver is usually unbalanced.
No need for a "BALanced-UNbalanced" function.

Assuming your "long wire" is a non-resonant antenna, forget the
balun for SWL. But an antenna tuner might solve the problem you
are trying to solve, i.e. a more efficient transfer of energy
from the antenna to the receiver.
