Yep, it really was a blast. Excellent wx, good conditions, no major

foulups.

Now to recopy the logs and get the final score.

It was pleasant days and a chilly night for the Marshall County WV ARES
bunch, atop the hill at Grandview Park overlooking the burg of
Moundsville. I'm not sure of the final tally yet but it should be in
the neighborhood of 26 to 27 k points. The CW duo was good for about
950 QSOs. We didn't manage a WAS on CW though--missed Alaska and
Hawaii.

Excellent!

I worked you guys on CW. What were you running?

Same rig/antenna as the last two years from here on the hill--FT-1000MP
"Field and Stream", Johnson Matchbox and 200 foot skywire fed with open
wire. It seems I'm never the guy to work you on FD. N8NN was the op
you worked.

My math skills are showing in the comments above. Score should read
"2.6 to 2.7 k points".

We were one of those stations which should not have been running 5A. In
the middle of the night, we had only two stations running. We would have
been better candidates for 3A.

Members of a local Boy Scout troop visited and were given an overview of
amateur radio by the county EC. They then visited all of the stations
in operation. They spent the most time and showed the most interest at
the CW tent. The ancient mode users had the only station doing computer
logging (TR).

The old ops using the old mode were responsible for about 2000 of the
points and that from a single station.
