The Newscast Network Offers Local News to Local Radio Markets
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Custom written and recorded newscasts for local
radio markets are now available from "The Newscast Network". Presently
on the air in Texas, New Mexico, Utah and Idaho, the service gives
small stations without news departments the ability to provide a base
level of coverage to their local audiences.
The news programming can be customized to match any format and is
currently heard on AC, News Talk, Sports Talk, Classic Rock and
Country formats.
Network Director Kevin Coan says it gives stations depth, and adds to
listener loyalty, which equals sales.
The "virtual" newscasts are uploaded to station FTP servers as mp3
sound files for broadcast, minutes before air.
Monthly "anchoring packages" range from under 500 dollars per month in
small markets and up based on market size.
The company also plans to add a National News service during the 3rd
quarter of this year. It will allow local stations to maintain their
network inventory. The national service will also be available to Low
Power FM (LPFM) broadcasters at no charge.
