A real interesting contradiction on this site......
From the MODS Special Page:
http://www.wholesalecbradio.com/ALL_...DS_SPECIAL.htm
"Most stock-out-of-the-box radios do 4 watts that's about 5 mile range.
After mods the same radios do 25 to 45 watts and talk at least 20-30
miles."
Then, on another page, they de-bunk their own hype:
http://wholesalecbradio.com/Truth_about_power.htm
"Just as a matter of information, most radios are built with a five-watt
final.
So, if some shop tells you that they can get 40 or 50 watts out of one,
draw your own conclusion. There is no way of making this happen."
Like they said........... "Draw your own conclusion."

Yep,,,you've managed to illustrate people are inclined to believe all
kinds of good stuff...like the ability to square the power and raise the
S units of a 4 watt cb with a "peak and tune." Although is should be
rare, even some educated hammies subscribe to this bunk. Others are so
cornfused by this scenario that when they aren't really sure if this is
possible or not, they become afraid of offering up their opinion and
dance all around this subject without stating what they believe one way
or the other.
