we will never get this newsgroup back until NO ONE directly answers
troll posts.
(Note that I am not answering the troll; I'm answering you and making a
counter point to yours.)

If someone wants to talk ABOUT a troll, that's stupid, but fine, it's a free
group that way.
But until you make the effort to educate and convince all of the "regulars"
in this group that they should never directly answer a troll, then we won't
get the group back.

All it will take is for the regulars to simply take just one look at
whatever new post by this (and others) twit and ignore it. Then you never
have to go back to anything with that subject again. It would be especially
helpful if regulars would use their filters to dump any messages with the
usual key words in them that have nothing to do with SW. Then, review all
the rest of what's relevant for the day, mark them "All read" and come back
later.

It's only because the troll gets a response that he sticks around, and
obviously, he's sticking around because he's getting the attention he wants.
We all know that the guy who has used all the alias's mentioned below really
has more fun masturbating with a picture of Janet Reno in front of him, but
his juvenile yearning for attention gets the better of him when that gets
tiring. That's why we'll keep seeing him until he can be totally ignored.
