The Winradio API is extremely well documented and I had no problems
controlling their receiver from my own software.
It is certainly possible to write your own demodulator, but be
prepared you will need to know quite a bit about DSP theory. Don't
expect to be able to write a demodulator if all you have done before
is a simple 50-line program in Visual Basic.
All in all, the Winradio receivers are the best solution for an
experimenter who wants to do his own software stuff - there are no
other receivers as well documented and supported in this regard as the
Winradio ones.

Hi!
I'm interested in getting a Winradio PC-Based receiver. I've read that
they do all the demodulation in software. So, did anyone ever try to
write their own demodulator for a mode which Winradio does not support
natively? Is it possible?
I know that their api is quite well documented, but do they give you
access to all the methods you need to accomplish that? Say, if you
would like to write your own fax decoder to receive weather satellite
images (like the one from their advanced digital suite:
http://www.winradio.com/home/ads-fax.htm
), would it be possible?
Cheers!
