How long are the longest elements? They would need to be about 15 1/2ft
long for 30mHz or about 11 3/4ft at 40mHz. I believe the Scantenna is a
re-marketed TV antenna and if so it would drop off below 54mHz. The
longest elements would probably not exceed about 8 1/2 if this were true
unless some loading was employed.

The overall length of the 2 longest elements is 101"s. Assuming
a 1" gap in the middle, that would make the elements themselves 50"s
long each. If my math is correct that would make it resonant around
54-56 mhz. And should work fairly well on 49mhz, mine did. Im wondering
if the little transformer that came with his antenna went bad or was bad
from the get go. That would have been the first thing I would have changed,
because there is no reason why it wouldnt pick up 49mhz very well.
