Is the channel your trying to lock out on a trunking frequency?
If your locking out a trunking frequency that was entered into a
memory bank IN CONVENTIONAL mode then the scanner can't
trunk track. Locking out individual frequencies will not stop
the channel (TALK GROUP) from being assigned by the trunk system's computer
to another frequency.
Look at the PRO - 94 display for the word "trunk" in the bank
where the offending channel is. If it's a trunking system and this is not
displayed, go back to the manual to find out how to designate that bank
"TRUNK' and the set the TRUNKING MODE to MO or ED and reenter all the
frequencies for that system in the bank.
Many folk have made this mistake , entered a trunking system in
conventional mode!
Once it's correctly entered you can then set up a " scan lists"
of individual TALK GROUPS and the PRO-94
will pass by the unwanted channel. If you lock out a" talk group" in a
scan list
or while SEARCHING a trunk system that "talk group" will stay lockout in
both ways of scanning I. E. 'scan list' or 'trunk search' !
The beeps sound like a EDACS trunking system, do the beeps invoke a delay
in the return to scanning the frequencies? Again entering the trunking system
in the correct TRUNKING MODE may cure this beep problem.
From more information check out this site. Look at the TRUNKING BOARD

I have a RS Pro 94 1000 channel handheld scanner. My problem is 2 fold.First
is there a way to turn off a channel that has maybe the water department or
Paitent Transport companies? it seems if I do a lockout on a channel, they
just come up on another channel. Also this scanner beeps 4 or 5 beeps before
it scans to next scan and i dont have delay on. is there a way to get rid of
the delay so I can hear both sides of trunking? It is a duel trunking
scanner. I am new to this so any help is appreciated...
