I have a 2004 with the same problem. Program a specific frequency into a
memory channel, go to another channel, then come back to the channel you
just programmed and you find it changed itself to something else.

I've always presumed the scanner finally gave in to the cold solder joint
dilemma. Over the past few years I've seen very few 2004s out there that
worked 100% perfect.
