Ramsey kits are legal only if completely unmodified, and using the screw-in
monopole antenna that is included with the kit. If you attach an external
antenna, you're illegal. If you strap them, you're illegal.

Also, Part 15 regs allow only a few nanowatts, nowhere near 100mW, the 100mW
figure applies only to AM and HF frequencies.

There is also the caveat that these kits may not cause interference...
Ramsey kits by and large put out as many spurs and harmonics as they do
fundamental frequencies.


But yet you say they are legal as long as you use the internal antenna
suipplied with it. Hmmmm...

I suppose it would be legal as long as you are using the supplied
antenna at the time the FCC Engineer arrives to inspect your
station and physically sees it too!

I would love to ask this guy in Longwood Florida what he was doing
that got them so interested in him!
