You'd think for listening to background music except when some other
channel happens would have generated this device somewhere, off the
shelf.

I suppose you could employ the external relay contacts on the NiteLogger II
to actuate one or more relays to route audio from 2 receivers
alternately to a common speaker or a resistive load.

At one time, it was available from Amateur Electronic
