I've been using one for a few years, didn't know it had a name.
Mine's 400' of green #14 wire strung into a rectangle of fence line
junk trees, elevation 15'. 50' of RG 8/U leads it in. Very quiet,
and surpasses my AD sloper for reception with a GS800.

Is your Skywire Loop Antenna a 'direct connection' of the Coax Cable
center wire to one of the Loop Antenna wire ends and the Coax Cables
Shielding to the other Loop Antenna wire end.

Or, does your SkyWire use a Balun between the the Loop Antenna and the
Coax Cable.

I don't use a balun, but do connect one end of the loop to coax
center, the other to the coax ground. The other end (inside) connects
to an MFJ 959b tuner which helps match the antenna and receiver, and
most often coaxes a couple of S units (without using the amp). Be
sure to experiment by swapping loop end connections to the coax.
