Nice going guys, don't give the ailing (dying) Pope some respect for his
lifetime of dedication, Nooooo, let's award it to a female from Iran that
will likely be killed by some Islamic lunatic from her own country merely
for winning the prize and accepting it without her head scarf.

what an idiot. here's a woman that stood against religious fanaticism
in a country where she could easily be killed for doing so, and the
moron complains about her bravery.

how brave was the pope? who was going to kill him for coming out
against the war? the reason he did so was:

1. it was aligned with france
2 there are millions of arab catholics

hardly an example of courage.

Koffi Annan, ahem, need I say more?

agree on this one.

In 1994, the prize was awarded jointly to, are you ready, drum roll
please, Yasser Arafat, Shimon Peres, and Yitzhak Rabin, the latter 2 from
Israel. No doubt that they were afraid to award the Prize to a single
selection from above (don't jump to Jewish Conclusions, I wouldn't give
it to Arafat, that's for sure)

sometimes the committee awards the prize to 'works in progress' in
order to try and drive the process by giving it recognition. a bold
attempt that often fails.

Nelson Mandela and Fredrik Willem De Klerk.

they did deserved it. they produced a revolution in apartheid, ending
it in a country that was torn apart for centuries.
