Hi all. This past Spring I put my Cambridge Soundworks Model 88 table
radio, designed by the late Henry Kloss, through its paces on the FM
broadcast band. For the duration of the test, the radio sat in one
place in a ground floor room. The only antenna used was a cheap $2
plastic dipole tacked haphazardly to the wall; it too remained in one
place throughout the test. Here are my results
I love my Model 88 but have never (with any radio) tried FM DX, even
though I have an amplified RS ATV UHF/FM antenna which gives me a GOOD
solid lock on locals, no doubt!
And the sound of the 88 is really incredible. I got mine for $89 on
eBay through an online store called HiFi.com, very good to deal
with.... not sure if they are still around.
Adam
You're right Adam, the 88 was quite a deal. I bought mine from
HiFi.com too.
You know DXing with a remote control is a breeze, you might want to
give it a whirl and see what comes in in your neck of the woods.
How's that diminuitive little Satellit 800 treating you?
