A Kenwood R-5000 just went for $230 on Ebay. The Seller had four
positive and one negative feedbacks.
His description was minimal, to the effect that the radio came out of government service and was in working order.

Some of these various radios that were, as you said in 'government
service' have been Mod'ed and Tuned for superior performance.
IIRC: A business called the Electronic Equipment Bank "EEB" use to do
some of this work.

His picture showed what appeared to be a clean unit,
but not powered up, to no apparent sign of life.
What do you think, bargain of the year or too good to be true?
