Since I Live on a Lower floor, I just disconnect the whole thing diring
thunderstorm season;
when not in use..
I snuck it up onto the roof of our complex one spring night;
heard some faint signals never heard before
but
got too nervous & , in the grey light of dawn,
snuck back up there & cut it down prior to going to work.

We have had lightning strikes that have fried our elevator circuitry..

Thanks for the information. What about the fear of lightening strikes
hitting your outside antenna? Do you have anything built into your design
to protect against that?
