I got my last Kenwood R-5000 free on Ebay by wheeling a dealing smartly.
Heres how:

A. Bought the first R-5000 W/VC-20 for $400. Sold the VC-20 for $150
lowering the cost of the R-5000 down to $250.

B. Then sold the R-5000 for $560 minus the cost $250 = $310 profit.

C.Took that profit and bought another R-5000 with filters and VC-20 for
$440- $310 I made on the prior R-5000&VC-20 making the total cost of this
R-5000 $130.

D. Sold the VC-20 out of it for $150-$130 cost on the present R-5000 with
all filters = $20 profit ( Which paid my Ebay/PayPal fees and and got the
R-5000 with filters for nothing except it still needed the 6khz AM filter
which RHF was nice enough to show me the way to INRAD for their Non-OEM
Optional AM filter. And I saved $20.04 by ordering today. This may be a good
year. Happy new year to all.
