I do worry about the 68+' of RG58 I'm running to the 6m inverted V.
Loosing 2.2 db on that run @ 52 mhz. Changing to LMR400DB would
cut that to 0.6db, gaining 1.6db. Hmmmmm. Maybe. What I need is
a omnidirectional horizontaly polarized economical gain 6m antenna.
Anybody got ideas? After today's improvements, I want more!

Ken,
You might look at the PAR Omniangle OA-50 which sells at AES for $70.
It is not a 'gain' antenna per se, but offers a very good omni pattern
and is more economical than the other 6 meter loops on the market. If
you want gain you could stack a couple of them. To get gain, you have
to compromise on the 'economical' criteria as loops tend to show
'about' the same gain as a dipole, however the cost of two loops is
less than one beam and a rotor.
While I do not own any PAR products (weren't available when I got my
AEA Halo or I would've gotten the omniangle!) they are well reviewed
in terms of performing as stated and quality of construction. Also, I
have communicated with Dale Parfitt, the man behind PAR, through both
the newsgroup and a few e-mails and have found him to be both
knowledgeable and a decent guy.
Good luck & hope to hear you on 6!
