Top Band enthusiasts often bond everything imaginable to their ground
system, so why not try it.
I'd be very worried with all those poor connections at every link point.
Could be (could) be a really good noise source. It seems that any movement
would cause changes in the current path creating noise on the Rx AND _your_
Tx signal. I fought similar problems on mobile phone installations. The
Appollo pick up ships had similar problems from the chain deck railing
parts. Good luck.

The same genius who put the function keys along the top of the keyboard,
just out of reach when you're t7ping.
Is that not t7p8ng ?
If the Caps Lock key bugs you as much as it bugs me, put some stiff foam
under the key-cap, so it won't go down unless you really mean it.
