Ok, at $50 a pop, I could probalbly afford to buy both, and decide for

Well, a, I know what a Tecsun PL-200 is, and it's an OK radio.
Single bandwidth, no SSB, but OK otherwise on all bands.

However, I'm looking at Kaito's web page right now, and I don't see an
1100 model. I see the 1101 and 1102, and I would take either over
the Tecsun PL-200. Unless price is a consideration, as the 1102
costs more than the other 2.

I have the 1102 - actually I have 2. It's a great little radio.

Sorry... I did in fact mean the 1101. It appears to have similar features,
but it is a tiny bit larger (137x85x25 Kaito vs 125x75x26 Tecsun). I'm
shopping for a travel/pocket/backpacking SW. They're both in the same $
ballpark, so I was wondering if there are distinct differences in quality
etc. I did find the Kaito review, but only pics of the Tecsun.

So... why would you take either Kaito over the Tecsun? The 1102 looks to
be too large for my needs (besides, I've already got a Sony 7600GR), but the
1101 looks very 'tidy'. I'd welcome any comments you might have.
