I have a Sony ICF-2010 that is appr. 10 years old. Last year, one of
my darling children
pulled it off a counter, and it dropped about
three feet onto a vinyl kitchen floor. After this, the radio is
absolutely dead, whether I use the 110V transformer or batteries to
attempt to power up the unit. Sony has a flat repair fee of $113 to
fix the unit, but with fine print "does not cover abuse". In any
event, I would prefer to buy a smaller radio than repair the 2010 for
this price.
My question is whehter this radio is worth anything to a hobbyist? I
can put this on EBay, but if I'm only going to get $5 for it I might
as well chuck it in the trash now. Thanks for the info.
It might be useful to somebody for parts, but you'd likely only get
enough to cover shipping. Consider buying a Degen 1102, it's less ($75
total including shipping from Hong Kong) than repairing the 2010.
