Does anyone know what device functions as the first RF amp in this radio?
Most likely some kind of FET...That would be a good place to check if you
are convinced the sensitivity is down. Some models of radios had FET RF
amps that were susceptible to static damage.

stands--my
SONY 7600/YachtBoy 400 etc absolutely blow it away..i dont think this is a
normal situation, so i suspect the dx 398 has a problem.
