You're right--there always has been torture. But unfortunately a lot
of people who are now oh so worked up about these incidents (British
and American) seemed perfectly content "accepting" far, far more
widespread incidents of torture under Saddam's regime. Why do you
suppose that's so?

I'd suggest as we see the moral indignation piled high to the sky on
this we ask those wielding the shovels: where were you when Saddam was
driving nails into people's heads?
