I would appreciate some advice from any reader who has returned a leaky
Radio-Shack battery--along with the radio it damaged-- to a RS retail
store.

Tonight, I found out that one of the six Radio Shack AA batteries in my
Grundig YB400PE has leaked and caused significant damage to the case and
innards of the radio.

Tomorrow morning, I plan to return the radio, the leaking battery, the
other batteries from the radio, the six remaining new batteries in the
carton, and, of course, the carton. I haven't kept the receipt, but the
batteries are clearly marked "Radio Shack".

I would be satisfied with a refund for the batteries and a new
radio--since a repair would probably cost more than the radio.

I intend to be friendly with the staff.

What can I expect from Radio Shack at the retail level? Will this be a
drawn-out thing with letters and phone calls to head office back and
forth for weeks?

Thanks for any useful advice.

It's worht a try I suppose, but I'll bet they suggest you see Chaplin
Charlie and get your TS card punched
