While I love Kenwood HF gear, I have noticed that Kenwood
really cheaps out on heatsinks. My R2000 has two 7805 regulator
ICs that run so hot you can not touch them. I added addtional
heatsinking, 2 TO-220 per IC, from above they form an "H", and
this lowered the temp by over 40F. My R2000 is operated from an
exteranl (Lambda) 12V supply that also charges a gell cell.
The stock built in supply puts out almost 15V.
