Sounds like the freq. tuning encoder may be bad? It is an Oak Grigsby
optical encoder. Real easy to fix if that is the problem. I am suprised they
did not send him another encoder to try before sending the receiver to
them.I assume he did call service before sending it to them.
When I bought my Omni VI plus back in 1999 I went through 2 encoders before
I found a good one.The bad ones would last 2 or 3 weeks before they started
getting flakey.
The VP.....Tom Sellevetti I think was his name or something like
that...called me & personally apologized even though it was a supplier
problem.In this case Oak Grigsby had a bad "lot" of encoders & had to
scrammble to make new ones for replacement.
this is not the Ten-Tec of old. their service and gone downhill over
the past few years.
