Julie vs. Steve
Well, this is interesting, eh???
Being as I don't know either of these two fine, outstanding people I decided to read back on the posts in this group for the last couple of months.
Whereas I can see why Steve may be a little disturbed about this wife matter, I can see why Julie is so very steamed. This is a shortwave radio newsgroup as she complains about.
I must remind Steve that the years he has spent in any place does not afford him special priviledges (nor anyone else) to post continuous off-topic messages in any newsgroup including this one.
I will say that Steve is by far not even close to the major offenders in this arena. I'm utterly awe struck with how this fine newsgroup has been abused by so many clueless chaps.
Why do you they suppose political newsgroups are available on usenet? I can imagine the angst felt in one of those groups if it were flooded with shortwave radio "off-topic" postings consistently.
Not only that, but the postings are so slanderous, bias, and near-sighted in nature to begin with in here.
In my educated opinion that those seeking a political debate, fight, or gripe should direct that desire in a place where it's welcomed and merited. It surely does not seem truly welcomed in here. I've seen many complaints about it.
I know all the off-topic posters will point to how valueless the complainers' posts are and how their opinions do not matter for a magnitude of reasons. Those who take this path will show true self-centerism and xenophobia to anybody "foreign" to their belief system.
Anyways, sorry for the ramblings. I have much more on my mind as I spent some hours reading back on these posts.
I guess I should wrap up my 2¢ with my request for Steve to just drop the matter and reframe from off-topic postings or ad-hominem attacks in here. As, I've noticed, Julie only post complaints in response to the off-topic postings or personal attacks directed in her direction. She doesn't seem to start any threads which pertain to this current situational problem.
My other recommendation would be for others to direct their political postings to the appropriate newsgoups as to not prevent other newsgroup participants interested in politics to miss out on them. There sould be no reason for them to have to scour radio newsgroups to find political postings of which they're interested in.
I can imagine how much hate messages I'm going to receive about this too. That seems to be the nature of people who always believe they're right and everyone else is wrong, and their way is the only way.
Cheers, Captain Happy

PS.. abuse emails probably wont resolve this particular issue as the complaints seem to be very fruitless in this particular case. As for the mass off-topic posters, they are more susceptible to thier ISP causing them problems.
