It's been a long time since I've seen one of those. But they do indeed exist.

I think I saw them at some venue in Las Vegas where they had $1,000,000 behind
glass or perspex.

That was "Joe W. Brown's Horseshoe Club". The million in cash was a
thousand 1,000-dollar bills inside a horseshoe-framed glass display. Saw it
when I was a kid and my father was stationed at Nellis AFB.
