I read that Brocchi only ships to the US and not to Canada.

It's puzzling that Canada customs would return goods to sender without a
clear explanation. I have checked out ebay today and I have seen several
items listed by Liypn that now refuse delivery to Canada. (

You could order it from the other eBay seller...Brocchi...he ships from
Chicago. He's ok to deal with as long as there are no glitches...then
things evidently bog down, but he overall appears to be honest and he
doesn't rip people off. I'm a satisfied Liypn buyer several times over,
but I've also bought one from Brocchi and it went fine.

I just got an email from Lipyn saying that delivery of my Degen DE1103 had
to be stopped because Canada customs was denying delivery here in Canada
and sending shipments back to China. Has anyone had this problem
recently? It's too bad, I was hoping to get my radio before Xmas.

Lipyn said they would suspend all Canadian orders until Canada customs
says why shipments are being returned to sender. I hope this can be
resolved soon. Lipyn comes highly recommended and his prices are second
to none. Maybe this will be straightened out in the new year.

Canada Customs = lump of coal

-FWIW-

? Is there an a "Licensed" Canadian 'import' model of this or other
Radios ?

If So - The Canadian "Importer" may have filed a complaint; which
required Canadian Customs to act and prohibit any 'grey market'
imports.

? Has LIPYN been representing these Radios as "Non-Taxable" 'gifts'
and now
Canadian Customs has decided that he is a Commercial Importer
(Requiring
a License) and all such Shipments will be subject to All Approprite
Dutie$.

The General Rule for US Customs concerning USED "Electronic Equipment"
(Radio/Receivers) that are 'won' on an OnLine Auction; is that the
items
may enter the USofA "Duty Free". {There may be an $800 Limit ?}

NEW "Electronic Equipment" (Radio/Receivers) purchased from Commercial
'foreign sources' can be (usually are) subject to US Customs Fees and
Import Duties (Taxes).
