If you honestly believe that "73s" reduces intelligibility, your
communications skills are seriously impaired.
It absolutely does not reduce intelligibility, but it does show an
ignorance of the English language, much like the over-used expression
of today, "I seen it!" No problem with intelligibility there either
if you don't care how you sound to others.
