I have what I believe is a speaker cable for a National NC2-40-D. It
is wire mesh covered and has a bakelite 8-pin plug. If anyone has any
use for it, they can have it for thecost of shipping. Photos
available. rgds,

I've got an NC-240D with original speaker that I'm going to start working
on shortly (low volume). The speaker cord has a broken/duct-taped bakelite
plug on the end. When you posted this I thought "all right!!". I promptly
ran in & dug out the speaker-----after checking I find the cord/plug on
mine is -- 5 pin plug and a cloth covered cord. There were several
variants to the NC240 if the pictures I've ran across on the net are any
indication. Mine has a different dial than most that I've seen...someone
needs to do justice to the National line of receiver's by gathering info
and publishing a book -- like Chuck Dachis did for the Hallicrafter's.
National made some very distinctive & innovative equipment in their day,
and I always have problems finding definitive information on some of their
offerings.
Oh well, hope the cord finds a home.
