especially
your antenna. You probably will not be able to pick them up on a handheld
with a rubber duck antenna but add an good outside antenna and you
probably
can listen to them from at least a mile away.

It's all antenna, I used to receive 49 MHz cordless from up to 10 miles
using a 6 meter 5 element beam at 65 feet. With a rubber duck the best was
about 1/2 mile.
