I'm totally new to tube project. I recently found two PCL86 and I was
 looking
for simple schematic to start with. I found lots of transmitters and a
 good
amount of regenerative receivers schematics. I was wondering if it's
possible to build any kind of single (or even two) tube tx-rx for the
 same frequency (even a
fixed one in the 80m or 40m bands) perhaps using the same xtal
 oscillator
for both receive and transmit sections. Don't flame if I'm just
 telling nonsense
 HI.

It's possible, and there are some walkie-talkie circuits that are
a Pierce crystal oscillator when the key is down, and then reconfigure
themselves into a regenerative receiver when the key is up. This
means the key consists of a whole heck of a lot of contacts. I think
the old PRC-6 might be something worth looking at.

BUT, I think you're probably going to have an easier time building
a seperate transmitter and receiver and putting them on the same
chassis. Check out the ARRL Mobile Manual for some really neat
tube-type transceiver projects, some of which are quite small.
