i have an old uniden bearcat scanner with 50 channels and i have a hard
time keeping up with what i have (i have to write it all down on a
piece of paper) a 1000 channel model would drive me nutz i think.

what do ppl do with all of them?

is there some ulterior (wink-wink, nudge-nudge...) purpose to it all
such as entering all the new cordless phone freqs or something along
that line?

Don't know about you but 1,000 channels is easy to fill.
You must either be lacking imagination, interest, live out in the sticks or
all 3.
First couple are devoted to police, local, state, trunked ect.
No, not every single one is used. Room for expansion.
Then theres a bank with fire/EMS.
That way if a fire truck zooms by, I don't have to sift through all the
police channels to hear its transmissions.
I have a bank dedicated to federal freqs, though in the clear analog fed
transmissions have dropped considerably over the years.
I have a bank with misc crap, tv stations, news feeds fm radio ect.
I have a couple banks devoted to short wave.
Then I have 1 bank dedicated to my local airport, Detroit Metro in my case.
Then theres a couple banks devoted to my local air force base, air show freqs
Blue Angels T-Birds ect.
And there you have it.
I'd rather have 2,000, but 1,000 would do.
I would rather see banks of 50 instead of 100 to make things more organized
and managable.
I don't know what the fixation on 100 is about.
