FOX is 8, etc. If I remember correctly from my childhood its channel
10 but I'm not sure (that station says PAX now but the audio doesn't
match the picture oddly enough).

Perhaps someone has a better idea (or perhaps CBC is on multiple
channels that could be received).

Looking to pick up the new "Doctor Who" series being broadcast on
tuesday April 5th at 8PM.

Well, the FCC listing won't do you much good since it only covers the
USA. Try searching around the CBC or Canadian government websites (I'm
not sure what the broadcasting regulatory body is in Canada; you'll want
to look there) to find a database similar to the FCC's. Low power TV
stations (LPTV) are popping up all over the US nowadays, and they can be
a serious nuisance if you're a TV DXer. For example, I used to be able
to get KSBW channel 8 out of Salinas here in Sacramento-until a LPTV
station playing the Home Shopping Network popped up on the "unused"
channel. Pax is a minor network that frequently runs on LPTV; it's
supposed to be "family friendly" and runs reruns of shows like America's
Funniest Home Videos. If the channel you wish to get is on 10 and Pax is
in the way, you'll need some pretty fancy antenna work to null it.
