Ive made a VUmeter for noise measurements in my EME system using a 50uA
moving coil meter. By using a sheet of paper with the calibration curve on
I
can read the dB measurement. I want to do away with this and put the
numbers
directly on the meter display does anyone know of any software that can be
used to make a good job of this.

Hi Paul,
I assume you are defeating the AGC and measuring raw audio out. That
technique usually suffers from variations in system gain and the inability
to integrate well enough to take out noise fluctuations.
The "industry standard" for measuring sun noise in EME is the General Radio
1238 IF amp/meter.
I can easily resolve 0.1dB of sun or moon noise at 1296 with this piece.
Long term comparisons were impossible with the VU method, and looking at
less than 1dB was a guestimate.
These meters are often seen on EBay for $100 USD or so.
