With the thousands of frequencies
available in the ham bands, wouldn't you think it would be
possible not to hear him?

A local station not heard one time in a five year period? That'd be
highly unlikely. That'd be while I operate all HF bands from home and
in the car. That'd be while scanning all area 2m and 70cm FM repeaters.
You've not been heard a single time. But I know you *listen* to 2m as
you've posted material here which would be unknown to anyone except
